If anybody on this forum thinks a dyno will detect and record minutia of RWHP difference between runs accurately I got some ocean front property just outside Stillwater, Oklahoma to sell em. I could make a baseline run....pull the car off...pee in the gas tank and make more RWHP.....doesnt mean shit. Way too many variables for any solid determination is made as to the "cause and effect" of those claims utilizing a machine whose manufacturers clearly tell you is only accurate to within +/- 10% to begin with!
RP is having issues with what is apparently their new WalMart relationship and the formula they have mixed to meet those pricing points. Who would've thought they would live to see RP being sold on the shelfs at WalMart? Not me. Crappy UOA's and shearing for sure. Mobil1 is not returning stellar UOA's and should be for what it cost. Average UOA's at best.

On the oil tip for synthetics I use RedLine myself it has a lot of zinc in it that helps high loads and I can get it easily. My second choice would be AmsOil.
If you prefer conventional I would run Rotella it works great in high load motors also due to the high zinc content. Like if you talk to Comp Cams they will tell you to break in any flat tappet cam with this oil due to that point. Diesels run on VERY high compression ratios which equals a high load value to the bearings.
And on the weight tip if you actually read your owners manuel you'll see that there is a chart in there and it actually goes off of your climate you live in.
We always cut open the filters to examine the contents and these babys work great.
Magnets are a good thing for sure.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Im going to say this.
I used mobile 1 and my results at the track were 12.5, 12.6 or so with the mods I have and I stay consistent.
Now I've changed to royal purple, engine and trans and I am 12.2 or 12.3 consistent.
The oil does not give more horsepower. It keeps the engine cooler, thus no robbing of the horsepower.
Now recently my racing buddy has a stick and changed his trans over to royal purple. His resultls to me is he is running a hotter trans and slower times. He also related to me that the royal purple trans oil specifications are different from the royal purple automatic trans fluid.
I heard it 3x now that friends of mines with manuals are not getting good results from the royal purple trans fluid.
