    rough acceleration

whats up guys..........so about a month ago i put some of the Chevron fuel injection cleaner stuff in my gas tank. i thought it would help but im not sure if it did. i always put medium grade fuel i think its number 89 and i think this just started after i put that chevron fuel injection cleaner in. ill try to explain it........ i got a 2000 ss M6 BTW. so when i press the gas it kinda hesitates and whenever i push the clutch in to shift it kinda boggs down. is there any fuel injection cleaner that actually works or what could this be?? and when i got the car it wasnt like this. i could just tap the accelerator and it would take off.

if you crawl under the car the fuel filter is located in between the driver door and left rear tire. Get under there and you will see fuel lines and the filter there. New one is like 10-15 dollars new.

Well, you have to make sure the pressure is relieved from the line first. I do this after the car has been sitting for a while. go under the hood and on the fuel line there should be a valve to release the pressure, unscrew the cap and its like a tire valve stem, hold a rag there in case gas starts spewing. Once there is no pressure i think its a nut that screws onto the fuel line on one side of the filter and a clip on the other side.
And make sure when you take the filter out you have a little bucket with you as a little gas will probably come out of the filter and lines.

Let me know if you have any problems. Its honestly a real easy project.

ok i probably wont do it til thursday, thats my next day off. on that install link it says to disconnect the battery, is that neccesary? and to take the fuel fuse out? and just one more question. does the gas tank have to be on E to do this? or does it matter. and i just saw that big thread about fuel filters, and it seems you cant go wrong with replacing the fuel filter.

For the filter? Just remove the schrader valve, take off the gas cap and go for it-you will get some gas just work through it.
