I always suck the system down when ever I open it. It's best to see if the system will hold a vacuum before you shoot your freon/oil in.
Otherwise you could be wasting your new freon ,,,,if there is a leak.

Vacuum it out.....do it right or not at all.....or replace the hose & have a shop do it for you

Did mine last year about this same time.....lots of fun!

anyone got a part number..there is two sets of hoses for sale..i researched it but the pics do no justice for me because i have not taken it off therefore i dont know what it looks quite like..lol..it is on passenger side coming from condenser to compressor it starts off rubber then goes to metal before it curves up somewhere and attaches to the compressor..i dont have a lift where i live here so i only wanna jack it all up once to take it off!

    this one?

Those pics are both the same hose.....Top one is genuine.....bottom is not

    AC Delco part# 15-31009 replaces part# 10409630

After you get the hose, study the routing carefully!
Jack it up so you can see from underneath.....might even want to take pics
Also, make sure you don't have any contact with the waterpump pully with the new one
I found it easier to drop the compressor start the bolt on the back
