Hmmm. Old thread. I still have the replacement painted roof panel setting in my garage awaiting installation. Might have to actually get it done this winter.

thankfulley my dealer gave me a replacement 10-11 years ago ( at time could barley see problem) I stored it unopened in the top of my shop and it /I hope is still there. as stated box is unopened, hope it is not a empty box. I may repair it later if problem get worse, but untill then I an't going to.
Just thanks to a great dealer,JohnnyY2K SS (SLP #239)

My wifes SS has that issue. Been that way for years. I have no plans to fix it at this time since it's her daily driver. I figure I'll fix it and a week later some idiot would total the car anyway. That's my luck. So I leave it as is. Doesn't really bother me and my wife couldn't care less.
At some point we might get her a mini to squirt around in, at which point I'd retire her SS from daily use. Then I might think about fixing a few things.

I had mine replaced under warranty years ago when the car was out of warranty. Not without some fighting tho.

was this something that happens to a certain year? Overheard a guy talking about his problem with this at Carlisle and he was saying he had traced it back to a bad batch of adhesive that was used, did not catch his year but he was pretty pissed about it...knock on wood I don't have any issue like this

I'm not sure that I have seen model year info for this issue. If there is a difference, then definitely the later model year cars have the problem as our roof panel literally bleeds on a hot day.

i personally havent seen this issue on anything 98 and older mines a 98 no issues whatsoever. my brother has an 02 ws6 with 78k and his has mega acne (thats what i call it) he had it sanded and repainted just to see and it was good for maybe a week. wasnt expecting a fix but the paint is no longer scratched on the sail panel haha. jeff start ripping that panel off id like to see the destruction involved!!

May get to it over the winter. My focus will probably be on the Cutlass restoration -- need to get going on that one again.
