    Reinstalled Headlight motor doesn't work

I had the problem of my plastic gears grinding inside my driver's side motor. I took it out of the car, saw that only 2 teeth were broken, flipped the gear and i've reinstalled itt. When i put everything back together, the headlights turned on but the motor did nothing. We took the motor back out, jumped it with a car battery charger and it spun. Then we tested the wire that it connects to in the car and there was voltage there. Then we reconnected the motor & headlights and the motor still didn't spin. Has anyone done this before or have any suggestions? Thanks.

i'm pretty sure, my dad was the one that checked it, he knows how to use that thing better than me. i'm just gonna keep trying it. I don't see any possible reason why the headlights would work and not the motor (since the motor still responds to a charge). I mean, they run off the same source. WTF???

when you tried the to turn the light motor when it was attached to the car did you just use the battery or was the car on when you tried to flip the light up?

I would say make sure all the contacts are lined up properly.. When I replaced a set of gears.. put it all back together and had no probs with it working afterward.. so I'm not sure.

it was only by the battery, I didn't start the car. I know that the battery is low because i've been storing it for 4 months now and I haven't started it in a couple weeks.
