    Rebuild or not rebuild

My car has 144,XXX miles on it.
This coming few months im looking into getting an LE2 kit (H/C/I) and im also going to be replacing the pistons to forged flat top pistons.
Maybe also changing out the optispark to an MSD ignition or somthing. I know I will be flamed for it but I really dont want to be spending 600 bucks to change out ignition unless I find another alternative replacment.
Ok question is would doing the H/C/I and pistons be considered a "rebuild"
Or is there more you guys would recoomend doing? I just dont want to build up the motor and after a little while the motor crap out on me.
Once taken apart if the block has cracks or somthing in it then I would bore it out 30 over to a 355 but im not sure if I need that yet.
Also want to mention I will be spraying it down the line to, zex wet shot.
    Thanks for any input/advice

teh LT1 is a damned strong block... if you're going ot rebuild make sure you get the block baked... re sleve it or hone the cyls... dragon slayer is an awesome crank... check out some of the gmhtp mags where they built a lt1 stroker...

also golen makes very reasonable lt1 stroker short blocks... if you go that route get LT4 intake and heads... i don't think the LT4 intake will fit with stock LT1 heads because of height difference...

If you were going to change the pistons you might as well do a full rebuild.

Well I am changing the pistons, my question is would that be considered a rebuild or is it not?

and if not, what would be required for a "full rebuild" as for parts wise?
