Rear hatch leak '00 z28
After a recent heavy rain I noticed the carpet down under my t-top holders was soaked, but found no evidence of leaking anywhere else under the hatch. I read that parking a camaro nose down on a hill when it rains can cause this, however the car was parked on perfectly level ground. I recently put quite a bit of money into some car stereo equipment, but I am not about to install subs in the hatch compartment if there is a chance there is a leak there. Is there any way I can diagnose/fix this myself?

Check your weatherstripping. There could be a pinch or the weatherstripping pulled away from the body allowing water to enter the storage compartment. Check for rips/tears as well. Eyeball the hatch while closed to see if the hatch is sitting flush with the rear quarter panels. I think there are adjustable stoppers in the hatch to raise/lower it when closed. Keep us posted.
