    rear hatch

    hey guys sorry to post this in our forum but the tahoe yukon site is no help.
    an im sure being diehard GM like i am one of you must know the answer....
    my 2000 tahoe's rear hatch window stopped working it will not pop open when the button on the gate is pushed,and the hatch no longer locks.i just need to know what part im looking into changing i think its the actuator motor but not 100% sure

    Most likely, the hook on the end of the actuator snapped. Same thing happened on my old Beretta. Went to push the trunk release button and I heard the popping noise but the trunk stayed locked. The actuator had a hook on the end the pulled the latch open and the hook had snapped off.

    Sounds like you have an issue getting power to the rear hatch itself. Check the wiring harness that powers it. It is somewhat common to get pinched off and have wires open up. It is located at the top of the open hatch inside a rubber like tubing.

    I took it apart today to find that the actuator was working but the lever that went from the window push button to the actuator slipped out of it's spot all I did was push it back in an seems to be fine. Hardest part was getting the plastic off the hatch
