Rear end help!
I need some help. I'm changing the oil on the ss m6 rear end.
The bk tires are on the air, car is neutral, no E brake.
And the bk tires dnt spin. It should spin right?
Any idea what the problem is,
Tanks00 ss blk m6 " STOCK" strano springs, slp bilstein shocks, adj LCA, adj panhard bar, relocation brackets, 2 point SFCs welded,OEM zo6 rims black, magnaflow exhaust, CME exhaust,E/cutout, slp grille, custom front plate mount, HIDs, whistler mod, side moldings delete, slp air lid, ported and polished TB, strut tower brace, 3.73s gears, and some other parts to list!
next to come,4.10s,ls7 clutch, ms3 or 228r cam, ported 243s, ls6 intake, ls6 oil pump. ls2 timing chain, longtube headers no cats, with a tune..
02 tahoe Z71 blacked out

yes they should spin , i was reading some other posts that u made and you has some noises in the rear maybe something broke and now it jammed in there causing it to be locked up ?

have you raised the front wheels up to see if they spin? may be a possibility that your brakes are holding some. also you may need to pull the wheels and check to see if your praking brake shoes have come apart or are siezed to the rotors drum portion. just a couple of thoughts.

I agree with the jammed rear end possibility and the parking brake possibility as well. The rear wheels don't move at all? No slack?

one other thing i was wondering, have you had any noise from the rear end lately while driving? also when you took the cover off did you see any abnormal metal inside the housing or on the plug? if the diff in a position that you can see the spider gears? if so take a picture and post it so we can see it.

Thank u guys for the replies.
I changed the oil n the humin noise still there.
The tires were locked because it was hitting on the frame.
I got scared I thought the rear end got jammed or somethin
