My guess is it depends on the brand of the tint and how well it was installed. I've never had a problem with it myself, and I can't say I've seen a car where the tint was obviously affected.

I've seen both cases so like Steve said, I would figure it'd be the quality of the tint and the tint guy. I've saw people use the defrost on cars with no problems and I've seen air bubbles on others. Might not even be a defrost issue, the tint might have bubbled anyhow because of the install or the quality of the tint.

I used my defroster for 5 years and no problems. The car has been sitting for 10 years and still is perfect!

I use the defroster on the rear glass with tint and no problems. I think it is the quality of tint and installation.

hell the guy that tinted my windows told me to use the defroster to help settle the tint. it was a cold day that he installed it so he said to use the defrost a few time and it held up for the 4 years that i had that car.

The back glass gets much hotter on a bright sunny day than it does with the defroster. As stated earlier, it depends on film but more importantly installation.
