The more knowledgeable members here should be able to weigh in more, but let me see if any of my research is paying off:

The problem with trying to do a ram air hood is that scoops/vents are built almost flush to the hood. This keeps the intake opening under the cars slipstream, and doesn't allow for true ram air. (Notice how water will still bead on the hood at highway speeds?) To go to a "top breathing" system, you need an elevated scoop (think funny car/ old '70s blowers, etc...) Our cars are designed to pull air in from the bottom.

In short, all "ram air" hoods are simply for looks/ minimal functionality.

I have a Camaro Z28 that someone put an aftermarket SS hood on, if the TA hoods are anything like ours, my only suggestion there would buy the OEM hood over aftermarket. My hood won't align correctly, and I see just about everyone with the aftermarket hood having the same complaint. If the lines are important to you, be REAL careful with OEM.

Look at the Cold Air Intake from SLP, or Fast Toys for a new intake, also, you have the free ram air mod. (A MUST, It's FREE!)

Agreed with Toker. Our cars are bottom breathers. Im running the Fast Toys Ram air and like it. VFN makes fiberglass hoods for our cars that are pretty nice looking but never ran one before.

Look up suncoast creations. They make raptor and ws6 style hoods that can be installed with a hood sealing, upturned intake to make them truly functional.

Or you can look for an oem style ws6 hood and add the raised air intake. You could also add something like a jaam kit to seal that type of hood to the intake.

But regardless, the guys above are right. Everything I've read suggests that even with a sealed system, you are not getting a true 'ram air' effect until over 100mph. But it can be considered a 'cold air' effect. There's some debate about whether getting air from the hood level is better than from right above the hot asphalt...

Volant also makes a intake that seals with the hood.

Heat extractors are small vents on the top of the hood that cause airflow through the engine bay and out the extractors, pulling hot air out. On these hoods they're more of a style option. I am not sure how useful they really are, but your engine should be properly cooled as-is already...

The hood is an appearance mod. Buy whichever you like the looks of for the best price. Read up on it's fitment and the amount of prep needed. I recommend a stock GM WS6 hood, but it'll cost you.

Pretty sure all of their hoods have the same ram air intake interface. The hoods will work with your stock intake, but to take advantage of the hood you have to add their intake, which is an upward facing intake/filter that seals to the underside of the hood. The volant would not seal right to their hoods as it's made to seal to the oem style ws6 hood.

I love the Raptor hood- one of the slickest aftermarket hoods out IMHO. Takes the sleek intakes of the Firehawk hood and beefs them up a bit.
