Don't waste your money on a radar detector. It will only get you in more trouble. Law enforcement hates to see them and will not be easy on you at all if you have one. They are more likely to let you off if you do not have one. This is just my opinion, but after taking my detector out of my car I have gotten fewer tickets than with it. But if you must waste your money in such a device I would look into a passport or vector, they are both quality products.

michael valetine, was i blieve one of the co-founders of cininnati-microwave who made the passport and escort.
he then left and started his own company, valentine1
i had one the first passport and escorts, the ones with the metal casing, those were great radars. once he left and escort came out with the plastic casing radars, they werent as good
the V1, has features that others dont, like directional arrows that tells u which direction the radar is coming from
the V1 has great highway range.
i have a V1 in each of my vehicles

Valentine 1. The Rocky mountain only works to scramble (for lack of a better word) the computer reading the speed. For example if your speed is recorded via a radar gun & displayed on something like one of those signs that shows your speed, your speed is recorded. However, mine has woked & saved me from some tickets, but, not always. Best combination would be to by just the scrambler from Rocky mountain radar & use it along side the V1.

I've had an Escort Radar/Laser for many years now - more than payed for itself!
Only thing I didn't like is that when I purchased the unit it was touted as being 'upgradeable' - no need to ever get a new detector as the upgrades could be performed on your existing unit - then they turned around and released the new version as an entirely new unit - apparently forgetting all their hype about the upgradeable prior unit?

whatch it because scramblers are illigal in like all but 3 states and you cant denie it when the cop points it at your car and siees a black hole

Just make sure it has POP mode detection. The above detectors are rated five star and around 400 skins apiece.I got a whistler with pop up and paid 175 saved me tickets two or three times.By the way its rated four and one half stars
