Race Fuels ?
Anybody ever used any kind of race fuel (100+ octane) in a stock LS1 and did you notice any differnce in performance, any drawbacks to using real high octane?

I disagree. I was using 91 Octace. Highest normal fuel octane you can buy here and I ran two tanks of 101 octane. I noticed a increase in power all through the band. An increase in mileage, and the engine even idled smoother and all that good stuff. So I say yes.

I wouldnt go much higher than 98 total octane in a stock tuned LS1. But, If you buy a plug that has one degree colder heat range ( NGK TR55 ) and get MSD tripple spark coil packs, you could fill up with 101 and run a half second faster in the quarter, I've done it. PS, dont forget MSD plug wires while your in there.

The computer has had some different tuning done. How much did you pay for the msd coil packs? I have to spend my extra cash on traction control items now. But I am always on the look out for easy extra horses. I am a engine person. I love seeing big numbers. But that doesn't matter if you can't put it down. Learned that the hard way.
