    Question of the day

I'v got a 01 camaro ss, I'm just curious what the little key under the driver side panel is? what does this kool lil thing do? I'v pulled it out and the car still starts so im not really sure what it is suppose to do or does.
    Anyone have any ideas?

You probably activated the self-destruct mechanism. Go park it at a Ford dealership.

(sorry, couldn't resist). No idea what it is or does...

It's not factory, but you should take pics so we can see your self destruct mechanism

go to microsoft.com and download the image resizer powertoy. then all you have to do to resize pics is right click and click resize, it's a small quick download and a GREAT upgrade

Nah it ain't stock, you'd have to ask the last owner about it. That's pretty odd. Image resizer is awesome it makes it so much easier. There isn't anything on the underside of that panel from the factory

yea that resizer is nifty, thanks again, i was reading the paperwork from my car and it says anti theft 2 and starter interupter, so im guessin that could be it but im not sure why its still starts with it out.

can you turn it or anything before removing it? I'd say it's just a key and you don't really have to have it in there to run, you just use it to shut er down or enable it then take it with you

Yeah-that's gotta be some kind of add on burglar alarm system,it's been disconnected or broke would be my guess.

i went by a local chevy dealer and they told me it was a security system they put in, so i asked them how does it work, they said it shouldnt start with the key out, i told them it still does and they said "oh i guess its not working then" i said so umm whats it there for then, they told me they could remove it. but i figured as long as it doesnt give me any issues im just gonna leave it be. Aye, they "say" it won't cause any problems, but just wait a while.
