    Question

    I have a 99 z28 that i recently had the heads off of and just put long tubes on with a ORY. Ever since I got it put back together there has been white smoke coming out of the pipes. At first i thought is was the head gasket didnt seal up, so after heat cycling it a couple of times i checked the oil to see if the level has risen at all and it has not and there is no milky residue. The only thing it had was a little bit of condensation on the oil filler cap but that is probably from short trips and not letting it fully warm up. So i moved on to pressure checking the cooling system and she held pressure just fine. Then i started it up with the radiator cap off to look for any bubbles coming up and there was none. I do not loose any coolant except for when i had forgot to put a hose clamp on but other then that it is alright. There is no overheating and no power loss. I have no idea what the problem could be other then maybe its just the hot air hitting the cold because i live in ohio and its still cold. Any ideas?? or am i just worring to much

    does the smoke smell like anything other than typical exhaust? put your hand down by the tailpipe and let the exhaust hit your hand for a few seconds and then smell your hand to see if you can sense any trace of oil or coolant residue in the exhaust.

    personally i think it's just cause it's still cold out as my car always billows white smoke when it's cold...but better safe than sorry to check things out.

    smells like normal exhaust i think my next steps are to compression test and do a leak down test

    white smoke is a clear indication that you are burning coolant, check head gaskets and unless you did the TB bypass, you might want to check the TB to intake manifold gasket as well...
