Putting a ZO6 Vette Motor in my Z28
Im thinkin of putting a ZO6 motor in my 95 Z28.Has anyone did this swap?I heard it bolts in.I also want to put a Magna charger on it to bring the HP to 800 if possible. The reason why I want to put it in my Z28 so it can be a money makin sleeper.Does anyone have a link to a company who done it?I pretty much would like to do the swap myself. Its just the wiring that bothers me.Any suggestions?

For a 95 you'll need a completely new wiring harness that supports OBD2 and the new computer, you can get this a www.speartech.com. the ls6 engine wont fit without an fbody oil pan. You will also need a new K-Member for the ls engine. I would suggest going ls1 or ls2, ls6 is basically an ls1 with different heads/cam and will cost much more in the end when you might want to customise those parts of the engine anyway. I've done this myself for a 94 v6 camaro and had more problems than it was worth in the end. I wouldn't do it again especially if I already had a v8 to begin with, I'd just mod that.

You could do an iron 408 with a big direct-port set-up for about the same cost ($7K at GMPP) of the crate LS6 alone. Why not just sell your car and buy a 1998+ F-body roller (no engine/trans) and go from there?

By Z06, do you mean the C5 Z06 or the C6 Z06? Both came with different motors. C5 Z06 had the LS6 and the new C6 Z06 has the LS7. The LS7 crate motor alone is upwards of $16 grand by itself.
I say, just stroke the motor you got with a radical N/A H/C setup and a shot of the bottle.

It was 16 grand when it first came out... Its 12,494.99 now on www.gmpartsdirect.com
But why go with the LS7? Be the baddest motherfucker in town.

Your post doesn't make sense and I smell a troll.
It says by your avatar that you have a ls1 in your 95 camaro....why not just mod the ls1? The main difference between the ls1 and ls6 is the H/C...so unless you're talking about swapping in a ls7 you're completely lost in the sauce. I don't see why the wiring would bother you if you're the one that put the ls1 in your 95.
And aiming for 800rwhp or even bhp with just a blown ls6 is ridiculous...even if you had a magic fairy motor that could do it you'd need the rest of the drivetrain to hold it.

You will need a new LS1 K-member if it is the LS6.
If it is a LS7, you will need a tubular K-member
