put 4 gallons of 87 octane in the SS, okay?

i'm in houston and everyone is freaking out about the hurricane so there was only regular gasoline left. i had half a tank full with 93 so all i put in was around 4 gallons of 87 octane since that's all they had. i don't know how gas mixes but could i say i made it a roughly 91 octane mixture? i mean is this gonna be bad to drive on and mess something up?

Yep you'll be fine. Fill up with premium when you get out of dodge.

actually there is no 91 octane. each gas station has 2 tanks. one with regular and one with premium. if you get mid-grade it is just a mixture of the 2. i didnt know this until i helped build a gas station a few years ago and asked why they were only going to have 2 tanks.

Yeah, it's true. I worked at a gas station, there were two tanks, well 3 if you count the diesel, and one had 87 octane, the other had 93 octane.

well actually... 91-93 octane is the same petrol but it just has a higer amount of additives. some modern station will only have two tanks. diesel and unleaded, an a sepreate resevoir for the additives.
