We ran a Fram, K&N and no filter at all on the dyno. All runs were within 2rwhp, so I'd say there is no performance gain. The flat-panel fitment isn't all that good either. I do like the K&N conical set-ups, but I'll try to stay on topic...

Well I picked one up. I really think it is worth it in the end. It might not flow as they claim, but I like the fact that I can just clean the air filter when it is ready instead of buying a new one. I'll make sure not to over oil it when it is time to clean it. I'll prob keep an eye on the MAF as well to make sure it is not clogging. Thank you everybody for your responses. If there is anymore likes or dislikes please post them up!

I have the K&N and it a pain in the butt to clean. When I run out of the cleaner I will just switch to paper

I've always used K&N air filters (along with K&N oil filters) and they've worked well for me. With the better construction of the K&N it's less likely to get all bent to hell like paper filters IMO. They cost a decent amount, but are washable & reusable, saving $$ in the long run. Just don't over-oil it!!! If you get an aftermarket lid, sometimes the K&N filter will make it harder for the airbox to seal completely-not a big hassle, just worth pointing out to you...

I actually have a SLP lid, and it fits perfect. The lid fits tighter and better for some reason. I am thinking it is the seal that came wit the filter.

How does the Amsoil fit? The airfilter is flat? I am assuming that goes with the volant?

They have a great marketing dept., that's why people buy them. Everyone thinks you need one, when in reality it's a waste of money.

If I were to go with an expensive filter, it'd be the Amsoil one.
