If just on the drivers side that is most likely coming from the PS pump leak. You will also see a puddle that pools on the K member. Get a bad enough leak and it makes it look like you have a oil pan leak.

Check before you go through that hell, hate to see you waste $$
yeah iit is only on the drivers side... alright yeah I'll do a double take before I tear it up...

I'm starting to noticed some oil built up on top of the alternator. It looks like it is a slow leak. Im trying to locate were in the pump is it. It looks like is coming from the metal fitting on the left side of the PS pump. I'm not sure if it is the o ring but that will be my 1st guess. Were I can get the o ring and can someone PM me the part number? Thanks.

That is the high pressure side. A lot of times ppl over tighten and pinch the O-ring.

There is no part number for the O ring.

    You can....

    1. get a seal kit from GMPartsDirect.com for $7.00 (not sure if it has the O-rings in it.)
    2. O-ring Kit from any parts store for about $10-$20 (depends on amount of O rings you want)
    3. Take the pump or High pressure hose in and match up O-ring at counter. A single O-ring cost about 70 cents. That is how much mine cost for this spot.

did yu have to jack up the motor/cut the bolt that is trapped under the oil pan?

there are 2 subjects discussed here. PS Pump and the R&P.

In regards to the PS pump - you can do all from the top, however I recommend either removing (best) or covering (helps if you can keep fluid off of) the alternator. You may be able to reach the high pressure hose that inserts into the R&P, but it is much easier to go underneath.

R&P - all has to be done underneath.

I've never had the pleasure of replacing a rack in an F-body, but I suspect you don't have to hack off a bolt to do it. Should be able to jack up the motor or lower the k-member to give enough clearance to remove it.

From what I've read its just as easy to just cut the bolt also. Both ways are a major PITA.
