Power Steering Cooler?
I decided to go out and do some routine maintenance and check fluid levels in the TA. Power steering fluid looked like a vanilla milkshake. Next, the radiator. No orange fluid. Chocolate instead. I proceeded to stick my finger in it and its gooey. Think I may have blown the power steering cooler. After cam install 7 weeks ago, I put new fluid in the radiator. The fluid I drained wasn't bad, so it has just happened in the last couple weeks. It hasn't ran hot on me and drives fine, but it can't be good. Am I on point with my diagnosis? Will the power steering fluid in coolant system mess my heads up?
Also, how can I verify that my cooler did take a shit on me?Last edited by Speed_kills_WS6; 07-28-2010 at 03:46 PM.

You already verified it, by the mixing of fluids, did you check your engine oil? Your going to have to replace it and flush the system a few times to remove all the grime and build-up.

I started the car with radiator cap off. Pure dex-cool flowing from the throttle body back into the radiator. I'm going to replace the power steering cooler & flush the system a couple times. All the oil must be sitting on top, so maybe it'll go easy. I'll check the oil tomorrow to make sure I don't have major trouble.
