Possible Engine Swap In My T/A's Future
I am looking into the possiblity of doing an engine swap on my 98 Trans AM in the next few years. I am thinking of an LS3 swap or if they drop before I do it, a LS7 swap. For the amount of money the crate LS3 is about the same price I am looking to spend on overhauling my LS1 and the LS3 puts out about the same power I am looking for. Besides computer, harness, and mounts any other possible things I would need.
I will probably not use the stock headers. Just change out the whole exhaust for an aftermarket system.
I am not looking for a street terror build but something fun to drive.Last edited by McCool318; 07-17-2009 at 01:36 PM.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Drop Top
Sounds good, Just got done doing a ls6 swap into my 01 cammy and with a cam and stock exhaust heads and cats, I laid down 387 to the wheels on the dyno. The ls7 sounds like a whole lot of work. Good luck.

How much did you pay for the LS6? You do the swap yourself? What all did you have to change in addition to the motor?

i dropped a LS6 in my car a few years ago... cost me $3,880 or so... the LS1 would have cost me $4,200.00+... if this one goes i'm going to build my own lsx engine...
