Have you looked into this thoroughly? As I understand it the roofs are really different, different bracing and whatnot. Any way will try to get some pics up later if I get a chance.

actually there are several threads about this conversion on other sites and ive talked with several guys who have done this, it is relatively easy as all f-bodies initially start out as ttops and then hardtops have a roof siliconed on, I have everything for the conversion i just like to an upclose visual of the final product before i begin. lets me know what im supposed to end up with.

I used to own a 98 Camaro hardtop-so it was with great interest I examined a guys Camaro hardtop with a sunroof installed in the middle of the top! I asked him about the brace that should have been running down the middle of the top -what did he do with it? He replied that he installed the sunroof himself, and the hardtop cars were made with braces running down the sides and no brace in the middle. Makes sense because the hardtop car has a stiffer no squeak feel to the top that my current t-top car does not. Never removed the headliner to look for myself at the hardtop, but couldn't deny the reality of the sunroof car I saw and talked to the owner/installer. Anyway-love the t-tops, miss the squeak free hardtop. Realize you are getting different info-just giving you my side of it. Will try for photos tomorrow-it's like 300* F outside right now- OK only 100* -it's HOT. Tomorrow will be in the 80's.

OK-see the braces running down the sides-obviously they will have to be changed for the t-tops. Realizing others apparently have done this before-just asking the question-how do you then add t-top sides? Guess the guy really did have to chop the center brace to install the sunroof-but he sure seemed to be on the level about not doing that. But it's more than just the factory siliconing in a top-those braces are welded in on the sides.
