Yea $1700 in labor is a bit much, but I received another quote from a friend....
Port and flow heads - 5 angle valve job, resurface heads(take apart and reassemble) $1400.
I furnish cam/springs, tappets, oil pump, gaskets and bolts.
Painted pacesetter headers $460
02 sim $140 for the pair
Set up gears $500 (i supply ring/pinion/bearing kit)
Labor for above $1500
comes out to be $4k flat. This is w/o sales tax. Which seems better?

again, you dont need O2 Sims...
you will need a tune regardless and the tuner can tune them out, so save yourself $140 dollars my friend...
also you can find an Ls6 intake for around $300 bucks, not $550...

good deal on header install thoe, in the D they want like 700 for install, but 120 for trans cooler install is twice for the cooler. i would do that your self. save some money its easy. since your doing a lot at once , which is a good thing to do , you should also see some stuff that you can do to save some money.
here is some instruction for the cooler. at least do that its like a 30 min job
