pcv setup

I need to know what the best way is to setupmy pcv system with a 98 ls1 and ls1 valley cover and catch can. I used the search for possibilities and came up with nothing for my setup. Right now I have the ft passenger cover port and the one on the TB blocked off. And have the factory harness running from back of driver cover to passenget cover to catch can. Then catch can to intake of course. It has to be wrong because yesterday I noticed the dipstick blown out a little bit after I went from 0-140 gettin on highway, also noticed oil smell while accelerating. I had a breather in place of oil cap but wasn't sure if that wasok. Can someone PLEASE tell the BEST setup for maximun crankcase ventilation.thanks guys!

Sounds like accessive crank case pressure.

Breather on the oil cap is fine.

I run the catch can with all the factory PCV hardware intact and working.

You need a vacuum on that system to evacuate the crank case properly. Or run more than one vent directly to atmosphere. Sounds like you've capped one of them off and you aren't getting a vacuum source to evacuate the crank case, hence the pressure is blowing out the dipstick.

Ok so ill put the breather back in place of oil cap. Only reason I took it off is because I heard it creates a vacuum leak? Anyway should I still keep TB to ft. Passenger cover blocked off or put a hose back on there? Or can I put another small breather on the ft. Passenger cover?
