    PCV crap

So i just pretty much ripped my pcv lines and i would rather go a different route then just getting new lines and fixing it to stock.
can i just block everything off? Do i need breathers on every port or what? what can i do to stop the pcv system? i need a quick fix this is a daily driver.

Catch can is the simplest fix. You technically could just vent the engine with a valve cover breather, but the EPA isn't real fond of that solution and it does nothing to draw the blowby gases out of the engine.

You definitely can't just block everything off. That'll just build pressure in the crankcase and make every gasket blow out and leak oil . A simple breather or two should sort of work. And a well design PCV setup is even better.

Read this, it will explain it.

    http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/explain...ct-mod-156010/

Both of these are good references in how to do the mod:

    LS1Howto.com

And the best thing is that doing the LS6 VCT is cheaper* then replacing the OEM PCV setup.

    * - minus the catch can, knock sensors, wire harness & OPSU that are reference in the top thread. They are not require to buy unless you break 'em while doing the mod.

If you are considering a LS6 intake in your future, I would combine all of these into one project so that you don't have to do the work multiple times.

I see you are a 98 like me. In one of those threads I believe I address the knock sensor and wire harness upgrades to a 99<. Reason being is that they no longer make >98 KS & WH. Yes you can still get them that are in stock, but they are slowly being phased out.

The 99< are a better KS and the WH is plug & play.

When you take the LS1 VCT off you have to remove the KS anyways. Most likely they need to be replaced because of mileage and yrs so go ahead and do the upgrade.

Many of us on here have done the mod and like it a lot, some don't and stick with the OEM PCV system.

Any questions feel free to ask.

You can get a peice of Heater Hose and fix that with. The PCV will fit into the enof the hose and just clamp it. when mine broke all kinds of Fumes were getting into my car.

Mail order tune from Frost is highly recommended. Just be sure to list all your mods on the data sheet.
