Passenger Side Door won't open from inside?!?!?!!!

Just like the title says. Had someone riding in my camaro a few days ago, they went to open the door to get out and the door would not open from the inside. I had to get out and open the door from the outside. The handle extended like it's supposed to, it felt as though it was not actually 'catching'. I'm thinking worst case scenario the fiberglass has broken where the handle connects to the door. I haven't taken off the door panel yet to check it out, but I was just wondering if this has happen to someone else and if there was a simple fix. Thanks in advance!

Usually it's the plastic handle. I see it mostly with chevy trucks with the same type of handle. The part where the metal rod from the door latch connects to the handle breaks. Most likely, it is just the handle.

Take the inside door apart and it should be pretty obvious what is not connected or broken.
I am not aware of any "Door Fix Spray".....
