P1416 Secondary Air Valve replacement problems.

    Hey all,

I got a p1416 code and am working on replacing the Secondary Air Valve on the passenger side. I cant get the valve off of the line. I ended up taking the line off of the manifold and pull it into the house. This valve just wont break free!! I'm using a one inch wrench on the valve, and a 7/8ths on the line and WD-40 everywhere. This bugger is being a PITA. I did this a few years ago, and didnt remember it being a problem (I hand threaded it back on when I replaced it and then snug tighted it). Is there anything I'm missing???

I think I answer this in the other thread you posted in. Try PB Blaster and let it soak for about 10 mins.

Okay, Ill run by advance and pick some up. I might even have some of my Toyota High Perfromance Penetrating Lubricant too. Should I anti-sieze the threads when replacing this?? Also should I clean the area on the manifold too??

I finally got it off. After all the work and lubricating, it still wouldnt budge. I decided to rinse out the line with water to get the flammable fumes out (and not set myself on fire) and dremmeled right above the wrench hold spot on the valve. I then used the closed end part to torque the way out of it. There was so much carbon where the line and valve met, it was almost bonded!!! Cleaning it off now.
