P0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected HELP!

I just received the error P0308 - Cylinder 8 Misfire Detected the other day during heavy rain. I'm not sure if that had anything to to with it but my car is acting strange and I am not exactly sure what to do. My first thought was to change out the spark plug on cylinder 8 and see what happened, but does anyone have any other ideas? Am I doing the right thing? My plugs are only ~25-28K old and they're bosch platinum +4's. Thanks,

    Jeff

You're on the right track, go for the plug/wire first. Personally not a fan of bosch plugs, or leaving any plugs in for over 25K - JMO.

What do you recommend for plugs? I wouldn't mind changing them all out at the same time if I have to change one anyway

Do the plugs. If that doesnt work, You are fucked. I got that same reading when my engine went to shit. Are your heads making a ticking noise? Loss of power? Engine shanking?

Napa is usually pretty good about carrying them. No, he's not necessarily fucked as you put it. How did you get the code read? Here is what I suggest:
change plugs, if that doesnt work,
swap wire with a known good one. if the miss moves to the new cylinder, its the wire, if not, swap the coil pack with a known good one. If it moves to that cylinder, its the coil pack, if not, swap the injector with a known good one. If it follows..u get the picture. After you change the wire and its not the cause, put it back where it was. same thing for the injector and coil pack. Also, a list of mods and what you were doing with the car would help too. Ive seen misses happen with blown headgaskets too.

If the parts store says they can't find it ask for NGK stock number 3951. They're MUCH cheaper than the +4's too.
