when did it start doing this? Anything done to the car right before this started? Might just have air in the system. To remove the air take the cap off the radiator and let it run until the t-stat opens and water circulates for a few minutes. Top it off and put the cap back on.

vettes are a bitch to bleed air from the cooling system. If it's overheating right away you either have an air pocket or a combustion leak.

Burp the system first and see if that works. Take a good look under the hood and make sure nothing is leaking.

know the ultimate bleeding skill on the ls1, I flushed mine not too long ago and had the same issue, is it running at about 230 but never over heating? If the corvette and camaro are the same then, there is a hose that runs from your TB to your head on the driver side, it should just have a basic hose clamp , disconnect the hose from the head then disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator then pour coolant into that radiator hose till you have a straight stream of coolant coming from the head cooling line even go longer to assure no air is in your system. Hook the head line back up then the lower rdiator hose as fast as possible. Fill the radiator stRt it and let it idle for awhile if everything looks good take I for a teat drive and see how it does. Like I said I had the same issue about two weeks ago I did this and everything is back to normal. Sorry for anymispelled words this was off my iPod my mac is getting repIred hope it works for ya let me know
