    Opti spark question

My service engine is flashing again and I know I have a mis. This will be the third time both other times I changed plugs and it was fine and everything then checked out on the computer. This should not happen this often, fouling plugs every 5K or less. I watched a program (two guys garage I think) said that the Ls1 has problems with the opti spark system after 100K and it can be intermittant (spelling?) at first so it may cause a problem but not show up when you put it on the computer. Could this be my problem? Can the computer tell you WHICH plug is mis-firing (and I know I can just look at the plugs and see) but what I am thinking is if the comp. can pin point which then I can switch opti spark packs and see if the mis changes to that cylinder thus pinning down if they ARE REALLY THE PROBLEM CAUSE EVRYONE KNOWS THEY ARE $600 FOR 8.

yes the computer can tell you which ones if its only one, if its more you may get a generic multimisfire code, but i am not 100% sure on that one.

    You don't have a opti-spark. LT1's have the opti-spark.

You don't have an opti, so at least that takes care of that.

Maybe a mis-use of term but it is a different "pack" for each cylinder. Don't know what is called thought it was opti spark. If the comp. can detect which cylinder I can pin-point the problem; whatever it is called. Thanks guys.
