It's VERY Over priced in my opinion.

You'll see way better results with Penzoil Platinum and it's usually cheaper!!

Well I think there is some confusion here....We have provided significant data clearly showing Royal Purple motor oil is crap. Shearing as Rob stated.
Their rear end stuff is OK. Overpriced for what it is but nevertheless OK. It also shears and does not have near the anti foaming capabilities as Amsoil or RedLine. Both also in the same price category of Royal Purple. Off the shelf Mobil1 or Valvoline synthetic 75-90 is very hard to beat with 25K OCI's.

ok then. I'll just put royal purple back on the shelf. no sense in blowing extra coin on something thats no better than what I got now.

    thanks everyone.

I use RP in my motor; (0/40 weight) and their power steering fluid.
The motor has 118k on it and it is as strong as the day I bought it.
It is expensive but, on the road I am getting almost 35 MPG and that is amazing for an LS1 motor that is 12 years old.
Lots of people here have hard ons for RP but, it sells and people like it.
Use what you want and change it regularly with a good filter for your motor.
I have a case of AMSOIL 75/90 that I use in the rear end of my WS6 and it performs great also.

The reason it is grape scented, is that if your vehicle is under warrenty, and you have something wrong with the rearend, and they can trace it back to the fluid used, when they break open the differential and it does not smell from grape, they know you did not use the authorize fluid, and "KAZAAM", your warrenty is void.

I work at a parts store and the only thing that sells worse than RP is Valvoline NextGen oil. I personally use Mobil 1 5-30 oil and 75-90LS in the diff. DexronIII in the 4L60E.

IMO, regular oil/filter changes are your best defense, no matter what you use. But be aware, RP and others are not true full synthetic. I believe only Amsoil, Red line, Mobil 1 and a few others are.

Well when someone is responding to the OP or someone else in the thread, it's good to know, they may not be here anymore.
