    my parents said they would get me some new tires for christmas, but, being a yankee car where they throw all that nasty salt on the roads it has some pretty nasty corrosion around the valve stems and the bead.

    Those are the areas where leaks can occur. Make sure you have an air gauge with ya to make sure your tires are not leaking.

    i threw soapy water on them and watched the bubbles fly

    ill inflate to 45psi and its at 17psi in 24 hours

    Take your car to a tire shop as soon as you can to have the tires dismounted, bead sealed, have the wheels sanded on the inside and the valves replaced and have the tires rebalanced. That's what I do at my job.

    theres a lot of corrosion around the valve stem aswell. a lot of the chrome has flaked off of the inside of the rim and i have nasty bubbles in a couple spots.
