OK your after the zinc....yeah the do make it and WalMArt carries the 10-30 here in South Texas.....I just googled Rotella 10-30 and this is the first hit... http://www.mpgco-op.com/lubricants/index.html
see it under Shell Products.....looks like you can order it from them....
You can also use Valvoline Synthetic Oil Treatment...loads of ZDDP....good stuff.... http://www.valvoline.com/pages/produ...asp?product=21

Then you can use whatever SM rated oil you wish and use a few oz's of Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment....your cam will thank you....

RedLine is great fricking stuff....loads of moly....in a race car....long term use in a street car shows high sludge build up due the lack of detergents. So I never recommend it for street car use...or if you do use it...flush once a year with Amsoil Engine Flush or AutoRX....but yes RedLine otherwise is damn good oil.

    Is it that popular?

Pennzoil Platinum (PP) in 10W30 sure flies off the shelf here!!! I called Auto Zone yesterday and they said they had cases of it, just delivered off the truck. I was there within an hour and they only had six quarts left (@ $6.19 a quart!). I was gonna buy enough to do all three of my vehicles, but I had to settle for Valvoline Durablend and a Bosch filter for my truck (special at $15.99 for 5qts and filter). Lots of 5W30 in PP though.

    Oh well.

ok..i'm still unclear...(and maybe a lil drunk--i hear ya on the shiner sarge!)...as to when to run 5w-.. and 10w-.. I've run 5w-30 since i got the t/a per intructions; living in east tx with temps from around 25 F - f'kn high F. The suggestions here seem to lead me toward a 10w oil; so my question is: is there a definative low temp at which you decide to run 5 w rather than 10 w??? Should i run 10w all year round or only seasonally if at all? Sorry for the ignorance...just tryin' to learn somethin'!

    If M1 0/40 shears to a 30 weight, and M1 10/30 shears to a 20 weight, what will M1 5/20 be?

Well I have no idea how your 402 was built, it may want a 20 weight but I'd still have to think there are better 20s out there.
