This would be using full synthetic top quality oil and filter. What would be the consequences of extending this to say 2 years or 10k miles which is well within the extended mileage recommendations for this type of oil?
The reason they all say 1 year is the moisture in your engine does damage. If your not driving your car much your not getting your oil up to temp and burning the condensation off. That is the reason for the maximum one year regardless of the mileage.

Yeah I know all about various oil manufacturers warranty. Just curious if you ever had a UOA on that stuff. Wear versus cost. I wouldnt pay $2 bucks for Royal Purple. Now if it were free I'd run it in my truck No I wouldnt....I like my truck. Nevermind.

I always use Pennzoil and have always had zero problems.I fact if you use Pennzoils Platinum you will instantly become a chick magnet.

    oil change, oil pressure

I changed my oil this weekend and used Castrol GTX 10W-30, AC Delco filter. Still need a chance to get online and order my AutoRX.

But I noticed my oil pressure is higher than before. This is the first OC since I got the car a little over a month ago. I'm wondering if the pressure is up simply because its new oil and maybe because the previous owner ran 5w in it. Oil pressures between 50-65.

Is this something to worry about? I live in St. Louis and weather is about to change to be in the 40's to 70's, just for reference.

Copper is a new big ass oil cooler by the way Look at the wear metals...pistons/rings/bearings all dropped like a rock with a switch from Royal Purple to Pennzoil Platinum.

Sorta has gone to shit now that Castrol bought it from the widow.....threads get locked quick...and lots of bullshit versus actual data discussions. For real oil data you must come to LS1.COM for the unbiased no bullshit data facts.

And also notice I ran the PP twice as long as the Royal Purple....300% decline in piston wear...100% decline in ring wear.....now those are real factual data backed up in your face lab certified numbers folks....still wanna run Royal Purple in your motor guys?

With all this oil talk it has me alittle confused. I run Royal Purple in one car and Pennzoil in the other. I don't want to disbute what one says about the product they use. It's all nice the post an excel chart for us but where did the numbers come from? Where is a link to the data in the chart? I know people who work the Texas Department of Corrections, and for other states. None of which has oil analyst in their jos description.
