The 5W 30 is if the weather is below freezing and and up. 10W 30 is for weather when it is above freezing....I just stick with the 5W 30 just in case. Where are you located?

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
I run 10w 30 and live in south Alabama. Where the coldest it gets is 15f going down the interstate at 80 mph in the middle of winter.

Per what I said in the earlier post is in your manual. It tells you to use 5W 30 in the winter and 10W 30 in the summer, but you can use 5W year round...I have always used Mobil 1 as well, but others here have posted that Castrol is good as well as AMS and Royal Purple....

i used amsoil and i always will...get the member card and get the discount, its worth it. FYI mobil 1 is not a true synthetic anymore, its a blend. I have used 5w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer with no issues, gonna do an oil change soon and not sure if I will go to a 10 or stay at 5. The shear strength for both amsoil oils if very close as for the flow so I will have to decide.

Viscosity @ 70F
Let’s take a look…
These are the calculated viscosities of the following synthetic motor oil grades at 70 Degrees Fahrenheit.
10W-30 has a Viscosity of 147.18 @ 70 Degrees Fahrenheit.
5W-30 has a Viscosity of 141.31 @ 70 Degrees Fahrenheit.
0W-30 has a Viscosity of 130.30 @ 70 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Kind of makes since why they say 90% of engine wear happens at cold start-up.
