Oil pressure high...75 at start & until warms up

Is this normal? I start my car and it runs at 75 until warms up...then it might go down...but sometimes it's this high even when I am not nailing it...just driving to work at normal acceleration on freeway.

My car also feels like it has a miss or something? It does not run strong...hesitation in power band almost like a miss or hesitation.

My oil and filter are old. I switched to PP 10w30 from MobilOne. Use to run 5w30 MobilOne only, but everyone said PP was so great that I switched. Only been running 10W30 the last 10k miles over my last few changes.

Can old oil/filter cause high oil pressure? Can high oil pressure also have something to do with this miss/hesitation I am feeling in the car?

I hate when my car is not running right...107k hard miles....NX wet 150 for some time now. Have not run the juice in over a year I think based on the car not running right. This high pressure has been like this for months.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Yes a Dirty filter or "clogged" filter and thick oil will cause high pressure. As far as the miss any codes? What plugs are you running with the spray? May be time for a Tune up...

My car runs fairly high as well during start up but i know in my case its not a dirty filter. I always use 10-30 Valvoline Syn and have no issues at all with my motor. Once it warms up its about 42-45 and normal dirving is between 45-50. I think when i go to work today i will pay more attention to it. I think its about 75 as well during start up not positive. I dont have any issues with my car as far as missing or hesitation but ill let you know how mine is today maybe it will give you a better idea.

Went for a ride in his car and it felt fine, a little detonation up top, but nothing too bad. Exhaust was hitting on the passenger side as well. The air filter was beyond dirty, he cleans that and a new fuel filter, car should be running better.

Thanks guys...the air filter was very, very dirty. I think I will switch back to 5W30 instead of 10W30 and possible go back to MobilOne (even though Sarge says it blows).

There is knock at the top...I run NGK TR6 part 4177 at gap 38 for the NOS.

I will start easy one at a time:
    -Air Filter cleaned/replaced
    -MAF & TB cleaned
    -Go back to 5W30
    -Get a new fuel filter
-Wedge something under the car if the exhaust is hitting
    -SeaFoam Intake
    -Injector cleaner
-Plugs and wires last (they are a bitch!) I looked again today, and they all are a PITA!
-Start doing 2 stroke again as Sarge suggests (did it for awhile until my syringe sprayed all over me in the process...rookie!)

If I do all this, I am hoping the car will start running perfect again. I will report back so this post is complete over the next 30 days.

    Thanks again,

    Rich

Oil has NO bearing on the "so called" miss issue...

Why does Mobil One suck? Can anyone give me a good reason why?

Look up Sarge, he has done a lot of research with various brand of oils.

Keep in mind that the stock oil pressure gauge is being read from an electronic sensor, and they are not dead on accurate.

It doesn't suck really bad, its just pricey for what it is. Its an average synthetic for a premium price.

Nothing has changed so far...just changed the air filter.

I will switch back to 5W30. I heard if you run 5W forever, you should prob not just switch it to 10W, so I will move back and get the fuel filter changed that day too.

I will keep moving down the list until I can successfully run that 150 wet again. I gotta have it back!
