    oil pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my friend got my 00 z28 into a ditch(not to good of a friend huh)it was towed out. i recently went to go for a spin even though it didnt have a bumperor hood cause of the crash, but anyways i checked my oil pressure and it seemed a little high on start up, like almost 80 psi. so i freaked out cause i dont remember what it normaly was. so my question to you guys is at around what psi should my car be at? o and its basically stock. thanks for hearing me out.

Im running RP 5w 30 and at cold start i would say right around 60 psi then drops to about 40 psi at idle..
I would highly doubt running into a fence would have any chance of tearing up anything internal on the engine..

Your oil pressure is spot on. Nothing to worry about. On a side note is your friend paying for the damage?

x2....op also depends on temp....durring warming months i will be at 60 during start-up/warm up..in winter she pops to 80 then drops down to 40....as long as it goes back down you are fine.

Your oil pressure is normal. Your real concern should be about why your car wound up in the ditch.

    sucks to be him.

to the OP: i agree it would take more than a fence to hurt your engine. hell, i got rearended awhile back and wash pushed into a trailor hitch on a jeep. only damage was cosmetic(hood and front bumper). frame and all that good stuff was solid as a rock.
