You want to use a synthetic 10w-30, there an oil thread going on in the general discussion forum. Penzoil Platinum seems to be the best option for the price. Its supposed to be better than Mobil 1 and costs a couple of bucks less per quart. Mobil 1 is fine though but like i said get 10w-30

Someone did a test on mobile 1 vs pennzoil platimum had them both tested and the pp held up better. Mobil 1 is fine but its no better than the 4 dollar a quart synthetics, mobil has changed there blend and it is no longer 100% synthetic.

yea that is true about mobile 1 its not what its used to about 2 years ago. the reg moblile one is not all fully sysnytectic like it used to be, BUT there NEW mobile one exdended perfofmabce is fully syn. mobile has isseuded a statement on this bought wont admit on the contents on the reg mobile 1. saying that they want to keep it a secreat from competoeors. but the new mobile 1 ext perf. is the one of the best if you want to pay for it...

5w-30 VP racing oil is in the Trans Am right now. One more change of that to go and I will be out. And since VP changed up, I will have to go to something else.

I refuse to spend the money for Mobil 1 anymore. Rip-off.

Once the VP oil is gone...I will be running 10w-30 Pennzoil Platinum. My daily driver started on it this morning.

0-30 German Castrol. Took my LS1 oil usage from 3/4 qt per 3,000 miles to 1/8 or less in 3K miles. The stuff turns great wear numbers as well according to everyone who has had a sample sent in.

I agree with Mr. Luos Mobil 1 (not the same as it use to be) is a rip-off ; I have used it since day one on my hawk and now have switched to Royal Purple 10W-30.

If you use mobil 1, dont be suprised if you use .5-1.0 qts per oil change interval. My car sucked that stuff down. .75 qts per change. It did better with castrol 10-30. With 0-30 I have no oil usage that is measurable.

So working at a "Pennzoil Shop" makes you some kind of a tribologist does it?
What do you base your statement on? Give me something definitive to back that up and I'll respond with definitive.
