Don't think so, it doesn't on the LS1 cars - just comes on when it thinks you're about 2 quarts low. Just a level sensor similar to the low coolant. If your SES is on I'd get any codes read.

I changed it out and reset the code. Car ran good for about 40 mins then died again. So the oil level sensor is not the problem. when it dies it will start back and run only if you let it idle. As soon as you touch the throttle it will die. Any ideas on what will make it do that. I have a 95 with a kt1. Just replaced the distributor and coil about 2 weeks ago. Could the icm be bab?

Didn't think the sensor was the problem. Did you scan for any codes or just reset the PCM? OBDI code(s) if any, will help nail down the problem.

the ses is not on. i had a buddy try and read the pcm and came back with no codes. the icm is over heating.i can take it off and let it cool down and put it back on and the car will run fine. is the icm going bad.
