that looks like the back of the car under the trunk... could be either your rear leaking or the drive shaft could be flinging oil there from another leak spot...

Could be the rear main. One of the things I like to do is clean it all off. Take the car and put all 4 corners on jack stands on level ground and get under there with a creeper, degreaser, couple rags, brushes and clean it real good and wash off the a little water. Drive the car for a day. Now put it back on stands and see if you can find were it is comming from.

Sometimes oil leaks can come from the front of the car or motor and the air passing under the car sweeps them back and then it finds a collection point and it forms drops that drip. Cleaning it will help you find out were it is really comming from. At this point to you can clean almost the entire underside as well makes getting under the car in the future a little less messy.

yea I had a leaky power steering cap that would push out some fluid and it ended up under the car and would drip on the exhaust every now and then back by the passenger floor board. It threw me for a while because the entire right side under the car was wet with fluid that smelled like trans fluid. cleaned up the bottom and the engine bay and 2 days later I saw a wet spot next to the reservoir.

so yep it is the rear main gasket, i put my car up on jackstands was hoping for the best i turned the car on i started cleaning and then as i was cleaning the bottom of the tranny right where it meets the engine i noticed i kept cleaning and cleaning but it kept comming out i was like F*** lemme make sure, so i got a flashlight adn i wiped again and i saw it seeping through. bad news is that its pretty expensive to fix it not to get the gasket but on the bright side i found the leak *SIGH* ha im so relieved

I have a small weep that accumulates in exactly the same spot as is pictured. It never drips on the floor, just enough to make that area look wet. If it ever does go, that will be my excuse for swapping out the heads, cam and converter.

Did you check the oil sending unit and valve covers? Could be leaking down to there.

Clean the area real good with brake cleaner, Pull the inspection plates and use a flashlight to inspect. Could be, sending unit, oil pan, rear main. Its oil i would say from the color.

Its not bad at all, Once you remove the linkages, Driveshaft, and cooler lines, Unbolt the bellhousing and T/c if auto and undo the four bolts on the cross member and slide it back and down and the tranny should slide down, Dont forget the dipstick tube.
I tranny jack makes life easier but a simple floor jack will also work.
If you want i can give you a quick write up later today. Drop me a pm with your email...
Do it yourself and save some serious Cash or take it to the shop and get charged an arm and a leg... maybe even a first born child.
