smws6ta, i too am glad i saved a trans am.....i have had a lot of fbodies (camaro's and trans am) come and go and i have decided that i want to stick with a t/a. something about them i will never get tired of looking at. i will do the things you listed, im pretty sure they didnt do any of them. i think i actually read one of your threads about the ls6 vct mod, i do a lot of browsing and reading and i remember something about that. the ls6 vct mod is moving the pcv to a different spot were it sucks less oil and is more efficient,....isn't it? l'll look it up..............

I also really hope its just the head gasket. we will find out in time. i will post pictures of everything.

anyone know the name of the blue green chameleon paint that came on trans ams? im just curious what the name of the color is.
    Mystic Teal Metallic?

    If I remember correctly:

    Mystic Teal Metallic=Camaro
    Blue-Green Chameleon Metallic=Firebird

Rare color nonetheless. I almost had a MTM 95Z when I was 19.

well everyone, the t/a and i are having our first bonding experience today. i decided to start taking stuff apart this morning (i've been painting the house so i havnt had time to get started), either way............i take off the air intake, unplug all the electrical wiring to the fuel rails, egr ect...ect...., then i go to remove the egr to intake pipe, i turn the bolt about ten times and i notice, its not going anywhere.......the bolt will turn and turn but not loosen up. Yay! ; ) were already having fun! lol, i have read about this being a nightmare, hopefully its not that bad, anyone know how i can get it out? all the threads i can find dont really show a solution for getting the bolt out, they only explain how to jb weld it back on.

Might have to twist and pull the bolt with vise grips. At least, if you are trying to save the EGR system anyway.

thanks cammed goat, i'll try that! i have to look and see if i have any vise grips.

i started a new thread about this problem as its completely unrelated to the ''oil leaking from headgasket''.

its, ''egr pipe to intake, bolt wont backout''.
