oil leak

sup peps, hey I got a 2002 camaro z28 that has a oil leak. its not the oil plug or the filter, I just changed the oil and check it for leaks, (not coming from there) Dont know where its coming from. Dont want to take it to the shop if I dont have to. Its not leak a lot of Oil, but a couple of drips in my drive way, very annoying!!!!! And plus I want to fix it anybody had this problem?

Kinda need to know where it is coming from to give you an idea. Like area of engine. Ar you sure it's engine oil?

Looks like its between the engine and the transmission. Sometimes its oil and other times it red looking transmission oil I think. Was looking at some other web sites the they said it might me the rear main seal. Can this be true, how hard is it to fix, and can I do it myself?

Sounds very likely. It can be true. Like every other seal they wear.

The fix its self is easy, getting to it is the fun part. Drop the trans and you are there. Since you are there replace the front seal on the trans as well.

Welcome. Thats the bare details I gave you, Be very careful to to nick the shafts or seal seat other wise you will be back down there in a very short time.
