Oil leak

    Hum ..... begining to sound like bad rear main seal and a pan gasket. Maybe pan was dropped for inspection and when previous own was hit with a $700-900 bill he bailed on the car.

    Sounds about right to me. But ..... for sure.

    definitely feasible. Your best bet is to clean it and trace down exactly where it's coming from and if it's 1 place or multiple places leaking then worry about fixing it.

    They do have two peice replacement rear seals that allow you to loosen the main caps pull out the seal and replace it by pulling a new one around the crank and into position.
    At least that was a fix for the old school motors.

    Personally, I have pulled the motors and taken them to the shop for replacement. I just like the piece of mind. Generally, when the main has gone on me .... it was time for a refresh anyways ... so, I go ahead and do the rebuild.

    yea this is definatley possible, i saw some oil on the garage floor but the guy claimed it was from one of his older cars(he had several muscle cars including a superbird and a cuda), i guess i shouldve checked it out further. so is this doable without dropping the tranny?
