Did you use a little Permatex on it as well? Sometimes just a gasket, especially the cork or paper sheets that you cut to make a replacement, will leak unless you also apply a thin film of gasket sealer.

Make sure everything is nice a clean when you go to reassemble it. Spray some brake cleaner or wipe it down with a rag soaked in either lacquer thinner or alcohol. Also, allow the gasket sealer to partially set up before putting it back together.

Is the leak is from Number 16 in this picture??

Print out this picture and take to a GM dealer to get a replacement gasket

I see now...that is the oil pan cover gasket...it is there for an oil bypass (if installed)...
see the two holes here on the oil pan gasket....

That is usually where they leak.

Now #16 is the oil cooler block off plate gasket. If it is leaking I would just use high temp silicon and be done with it.
