The LS1 seems to pull a lot of vacuum and the PCV setup allows oil to be pulled through and into the intake. I just swapped out the stock PCV for the 2003 style LS truck PCV which is just a much smaller hole. I also put in a glass inline fuel filter to look for oil and it's still pulling a little bit of oil. This oil burning can lead to carbon buildup on the pistons and valves and pinging(which I was getting). I ran some SeaFoam through the car and burned off a lot of buildup before switching the PCV. There are also threads about switching to the LS6 PCV setup but that is more involved.

I don't know that it would cause any strange sounds. Have you listened to anyone else's car to compare the sound? Automatic cars have some sort of timing pulled during the shift to prevent damage to the engine. That might be the sound you're hearing.

Low voltage on all the sensors is not a good sign. It's probably giving bad readings and the computer is not using them and going into limp mode or SD mode. You might want to grab a new sensor and see if that gets a different reading. If not, then it sounds like a grounding problem somewhere in that whole circuit.

this is a very common problemn with all the post..
i just want to try all these little checks before 4 sensors hit my wallet...
people have replaced them and lights still on...

what was the code? have you tried switching the sensor to the other side and see if the code follows it?
