oil filter ?
Hi fellow members
I work at a auto parts store & a customer said you can used a ac delco pf 61 fillter on ls1 engines. That is the fillter he uses on his 02 chevy truck with a 5.3 .Is this true or he full of bs .I pulled one off the shelve & it look the same as a pf 46 but it holds more oil .I know you guys would be able to answer this ?.Happy Motoring

There are several filters you can use that being one of them, as you said they just hold more oil.
J2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

i use a 61. its just a lil longer than the 46. i use that with a full 6 quarts of oil

You should have no problems using it just add .5 quart of oil more.

I heard that too, supposebly it give you 10HP extra, i use it too, but for more oil convinience.

Yep I use the PF61. I just did a write up on this a while back somewhere,,,comparing different brands and their sizes. The PF61 was the longest out of all of them, including the K&N, Fram, and Mobil.
