    Oil Filler/crank case Breather

I know the WS6 Store has one of these -
    http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...c6406120e5e346

My question is, has anyone used one of these like a K&N brand?? WS6 store charges 45 bux, and K&N breather filters of the same style are over half the cost. I just don't know which K&N version would fit, they offer a bunch of different styles, shapes, and sizes. If anybody has installed a crankcase breather please let me know. Thank you.

Through further research, I am finding the one meant for the LS1 from either WS6 Store and others has a machined screw end on it just for our engines.

My Strut Tower Brace would get in the way of that breather though if I screw it into the plastic oil filler neck. Here is my next question, is there any way or how do I remove that neck in which goes into the valve cover so I can put the breather on like this picture here -

Does the neck just turn off or what?? I don't really want to break it off.

    Drag car = breather

    Street car = catch can

That is all fine, I want to do the catch can and breather. Is there any way to get that plastic neck off my valve cover?

Also, is there a catch can that is under $100? Seems like somebody should have come out with a cheaper one by now.

not for anything i think the breather is great for street/track duties it does a good job of venting heat

That picture confuses me. That catch can is doing nothing.

    No idea on the neck.
    I run a catch can...no breathers.

There is a certain amount of pressure you want in that system on a street car. Breather basicly removes it.
If you have a little blow-by...you will have oil all over the place as well.

Ah yes...the LS6 valley cover. I forgot about that.
Sarge's car has a built motor. He would have to say, but I think it is 50/50 street/track.

It's your car. We all have varying opinions on what works.

What is the recommended way to run a catch can then? Do they give you instructions with the ones from ws6 store? Or can you instruct me on the correct method.

It goes inline with the PCV system.

Off the valvecover, into the can, back into the intake.

which way, any other suggestions without breaking it? Once its off does the fitting in the valve cover look like the one on the neck. Like if I wanted I could put the oem oil fill cap directly onto the valve cover with not neck?

Does anybody not recommend twisting the oil fill neck off? Will it just break off or unscrew?? Thanks.
