    have you reset the light?

with the key turned to on, just hold the trip meter button for about 15 seconds or until the change oil light flashes

Reset it. Owner's manual will tell you how too. I can't remember off the top of my head.

The light comes on after a certain number of rotations of the motor.
I change my oil probably 3-4 times before the light comes on.

Another way to reset it is: Turn key on. Press gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. That's it! This won't reset the trip meter either, if you happen to be checking mileage.

I had a '98 Trans Am, this change oil light was not enabled from the factory. I thought this was only a '99 and up thing? Does anyone know for sure when this was a factory thing for the F-bodies, the oil life monitor?

my low oil light stays on all the time...well it dissapears sometimes but for the most part stays on. I checked my oil and its full the only other thing i can think of is to do an oil change.

I blew up a toyota by assuming the oil sensor was bad I should have checked the oil pressure from an external source (pressure guage at sending unit) the oil pump crapped out and grenaded the motor its amazing how fast they go with no oil pressure. Just a warning may just be sensor but better to know for sure$$$$$$$.
