    Normal Idle

What is the normal idle of my T/A. Manual. it's about 800 as far as I can tell... is that what it should be?

Are you sure theres a problem? It doesn't seem like a bad idle.

when mine was 1000 rpm it said high idle (SES code) had a vacuum leak.

your IAC, TPS and MAF effect idle, a dirty airfilter or dirty fuel filter can kill it too.

if your idling at 800 steadily, I would not worry about.

I idle between 900-1300 because of my cam and letting the car warm up.

the idle screw is on the throttle body.

I suggest using a multi-meter when adjusting, you can cause an SES code to go off. Plus when using the multi-meter you can make sure your TPS is working fine.

does your gas mileage seem lower then normal and does the car sometimes feel as if its is pulling on its own?

Hey guys i seem to be having the same issue. I did a head/cam/Lt install as well. Car fired right up...I had to adjust the screw about 1/2 turn and it idled around 900-1000. It still seemed to want a little more so i upped to 1000-1100.Car started right up and would idle perfect.. No pedaling. I sent my Comp of for a tune till i can get to the dyno.. I had them adjust my idle speed. I put it back in and it wants to idle around 900 again.. WTF.. I adjusted the screw another 1/2 turn back to wear it was good.. The CPU keeps correcting it and goes back to 900 after 5 mins or so.. I hear there is a way to unplug the TB and turn the ignition to on turn back off and plug the TB back in.. This is supposed to set the TB position to Zero.. But i tried this and it doesnt work.. I guess i going to have to call somebody. By the way, using a volt meter, where do i take reading at.. Also what are you reading, milli, dc, or OHMs,, thanks, KD

When I had my SS dyno tuned, the tuner said the idle screw has a tendency to loosen up and might move a couple of threads so once he got everything set right he put some Loctite on it to keep it where he set it at.
