noise from bottom of car when put into drive and reverse but not in park

I have a 2000 Z28 with almost 103,000 miles. For a while I have been hearing a noise from the bottom of my car . This happens in drive and reverse. It happens at low rpms. I hear it when I idle in drive, when I drive off (it stops after the car get going), it also make the noise when comming to a stop.

It is like metal vibrating noise, thats the best i can describe it.

It does not do it in park at all even if i rev it.

    Thankls, jason

This is just one of those things you're gonna have to hunt down. Sounds like possibly an exhaust shield. I would have someone get in it and put it in drive and crawl around on the ground and see if you can pin point it. Is your cutout cap good and tight? Any thumping under hard acceleration like from the transmission crossmember?

It does it with the cap off and on tight. I just had the trans mount replaced .

I was thinking the over the axle pipe was rubbing on the sheild, and it was so i adjusted it, but the sounds is still there.

Ill take it the my mechanic and let him find out

another spot to check is that the over the axle pipe isn't rubbing on the panhard bar. That's a pretty tight fit back there too. Also, on the drivers side right under the driver. Check that sheild and make sure it's not loose.
